You Are What You Eat! (A Short Bio on the Nutrient Density of the Main Ingredients)

Avocado: Avocados are an amazing Superfood that carries a multitude of benefits worth looking up.  By adding fresh avocado to your salad you increase the absorption of cartenoid antioxidants (lycopene and beta-carotene) from a salad of say romaine lettuce, spinach and carrots by 200-400%.  Research shows that avocado has an amazing cartenoid diversity (usually only found in bright orange or red vegetables like carrots or tomatoes), which is a key factor in its anti-inflammatory properties.  Avocado’s fat is unusually healthy and research has documented its beneficial health properties.  Avocados help promote heart health, have wide ranging anti-inflammatory benefits (both osteo and rheumatoid arthritis), supports the heart and blood vessels, promotes blood sugar regulation, and have anti-cancer benefits. Has an array of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin K, dietary fibre, potassium, folate, vitamin B6, vitamin C and copper to name a few.  Wide range of phytonutrients including phytosterols, cartenoids, flavonoids, polyhydroxylated fatty alcohols (widely present in ocean plants but very unique among land plants), omega-3 fatty acids, and oleic acid.

Lemon/Lime: Contains phytonutrients with anti-oxidant and antibiotic effects, excellent source of vitamin C, and limonins, which support optimum health, strong immune system.  Extra vitamin C is helpful with conditions like colds, flu’s and recurrent eat infections.
